The AC symptoms we hear most
- Air coming out is warm but the fan keeps blowing Outdoor unit not running: capacitor, contactor or low refrigerant charge
- Outdoor unit hums and then clicks off Compressor start trouble, failed capacitor or hard start component
- System runs constantly and never hits the thermostat setting Refrigerant leak, dirty coil or undersized airflow
- Water on the floor or around the indoor unit Blocked condensate drain, rusted pan or float switch shutdown
- Ice built up on the lines or indoor coil Low charge or restricted return airflow freezing the evaporator

Safe things to check first
Worth a look before you call — sometimes it saves you the visit.
- 1 Check the thermostat: set to COOL, fan on AUTO, temperature below room temperature, and put fresh batteries in if the screen is faint or blank.
- 2 Look at the breaker panel for a tripped breaker on the air handler or outdoor unit and reset it once. If it trips again, leave it off and call us.
- 3 Pull the filter and hold it to the light. If you cannot see through it, replace it with the same size and note which way the arrow points.
- 4 Walk around the outdoor unit and clear grass clippings, leaves, mulch and vines back a couple of feet so it can breathe.

How soon can someone get out to me?
Call and tell us your town and what the system is doing. We run long rural routes across the region, so we schedule by geography to keep drive time down. No cooling at all with heat in the house moves ahead of a noise complaint.
My AC quit last night. Should I keep trying to run it?
If it is blowing warm or ice is forming, shut it off at the thermostat. Running a system that is low on refrigerant or has a stuck compressor can turn a small repair into a much larger one. Leave it off and call us.
Do you just add refrigerant when it is low?
Refrigerant does not get used up, so low charge means it leaked out somewhere. We look for the leak first and tell you where it is and what fixing it takes. Topping off a leaking system only buys a few weeks.
Is it worth repairing an older air conditioner?
Often yes. A capacitor, fan motor, contactor or drain repair is straightforward on almost any age of equipment. We give you the honest picture when a compressor or coil fails on an older system so you can weigh repair against replacement.
Why does my system freeze up in summer?
Two usual reasons: not enough air moving across the indoor coil, or not enough refrigerant in the system. A plugged filter or closed vents cause the first. A leak causes the second. We measure both instead of guessing.
What should I do if I smell gas near my heating and cooling equipment?
Get everyone out of the house first, then call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Do not flip switches or go back in. Once they have cleared the property, call us and we will check the equipment.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptoms
You describe what changed. No cold air, a breaker that keeps tripping, water near the air handler, a smell, a noise. That gives us a head start on parts before we ever leave the shop.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behavior and the outdoor unit. We look at the whole system, because a frozen coil usually points somewhere else.
- Step 3
You decide the repair
We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the rest of the system is likely to hold up. You pick the repair. We do not start work you did not approve.

Why homeowners call us
- Rural routes are normal for usWe drive long stretches between calls and we plan for it. Trucks carry the common heat pump and air conditioner repair parts so a diagnosis does not turn into a second trip on a hot afternoon.
- Heat pumps and sandy soilMost homes we visit run a heat pump, and sand, lawn clippings and pollen pack the outdoor coil fast. We clear it, check the defrost side in winter, and show you what we found before we close it up.
- Well water housesHomes on well water bring their own quirks, from pump-driven electrical noise to hard water on drain lines and condensate pans. We know where those systems clog and where the slow leaks hide.
- Heating repair tooCold snaps in this region are short and hard. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnaces, so one crew handles your system in July and again in January.
- All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
