Questions Florida homeowners ask

How fast can you get to my house in Florida?

Same day is often possible, and if it is not, we will give you a real window instead of a guess. Some of our routes cover a lot of ground between calls, so the more you can tell us up front about the address and the problem, the tighter we can make that window. Call early on hot days. That is when the schedule fills.

My AC runs all day and the house still feels humid. Is that normal for Florida?

It is common, but it is not something you have to live with. Florida humidity means your air conditioner has to pull moisture out of the air, not just drop the temperature, and a system that is oversized, low on refrigerant or running with a clogged drain will cool without dehumidifying. Before you call, change the filter and confirm your supply vents are open. Then let us look at airflow, the coil and the condensate drain.

What should I have ready when I call?

The brand and rough age of your indoor and outdoor equipment, what the thermostat is set to versus what the house actually feels like, and whether anything changed recently such as a storm, a power flicker or a breaker trip. If you know the system has a maintenance history with another company, mention that too. It saves diagnostic time.

Do you work on heat pumps?

Yes, and across most of Florida that is the majority of what we see. Heat pumps do the cooling in summer and the heating in the cooler months, which means they run nearly year round and wear differently than a furnace-and-AC pairing. We handle heat pump repair, defrost and reversing valve problems, airflow issues and full replacement.

Are there safe things I can check before I schedule a visit?

A few, and they solve more calls than you would think. Check that the thermostat has fresh batteries and is set to cool or heat as intended, look for a tripped breaker at the panel, put in a clean filter, clear leaves and yard debris away from the outdoor unit, and walk the house to confirm vents are open and not blocked by furniture. Anything involving gas, refrigerant or high-voltage wiring is ours to handle. If you ever smell gas, get everyone out of the building first, then call 911 or your gas utility from outside, and call us after that.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptoms

You describe what changed. No cold air, a breaker that keeps tripping, water near the air handler, a smell, a noise. That gives us a head start on parts before we ever leave the shop.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behavior and the outdoor unit. We look at the whole system, because a frozen coil usually points somewhere else.

  3. Step 3

    You decide the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the rest of the system is likely to hold up. You pick the repair. We do not start work you did not approve.

Why homeowners call us

  • Rural routes are normal for usWe drive long stretches between calls and we plan for it. Trucks carry the common heat pump and air conditioner repair parts so a diagnosis does not turn into a second trip on a hot afternoon.
  • Heat pumps and sandy soilMost homes we visit run a heat pump, and sand, lawn clippings and pollen pack the outdoor coil fast. We clear it, check the defrost side in winter, and show you what we found before we close it up.
  • Well water housesHomes on well water bring their own quirks, from pump-driven electrical noise to hard water on drain lines and condensate pans. We know where those systems clog and where the slow leaks hide.
  • Heating repair tooCold snaps in this region are short and hard. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnaces, so one crew handles your system in July and again in January.
  • All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
