What the job involves
We start inside the house, comparing what the thermostat is asking for against what each room actually gets. Then we get into the attic or crawlspace and follow the trunk line and branch runs by hand and by eye, looking for separated boots, crushed flex, torn insulation and tape that gave up years ago. On homes with the air handler in a hot attic, we pay close attention to the plenum connections. We measure airflow at the registers so the findings are numbers, not guesses.
What we check
Return leaks get checked first, because a return pulling attic or crawlspace air changes humidity in the whole house. We look at supply boot seals where they meet the ceiling or floor, duct support straps that let a run sag and kink, and any duct crossing a hot roofline with thin insulation. We check filter fit at the cabinet, since a gap there is its own leak. We note register sizes and how many runs one trunk is trying to feed, which often explains the far bedroom.
How we decide it is the right call
If the equipment cools well at the air handler but rooms disagree with each other, ductwork is usually the reason and diagnosis comes before any repair. Long runs in humid attics, additions tied into an original system, and sandy-site homes where crawlspace ducts have shifted are all common causes across the region. If the real problem turns out to be a low charge, a failing blower or an undersized return, we tell you that instead and quote the actual fix. No point sealing ducts on a system with a different fault.

How do I know if my ducts are leaking or my AC is just weak?
If the air at the closest vent feels cold but distant rooms stay warm, that points at ducts. If every vent is weak or lukewarm, that points at the equipment. Diagnosis separates the two so you pay for the right repair.
Can leaky ducts make my house humid?
Yes. A return leak in a hot attic or damp crawlspace pulls unconditioned, moist air into the system and spreads it through the house. Sticky rooms with the AC running are a common sign we find during duct diagnosis.
Do you have to tear into ceilings to find duct leaks?
Rarely. Most duct runs in homes across Florida, Georgia and South Carolina are reachable from the attic or crawlspace, so we inspect and test from there. If access is genuinely blocked, we discuss options with you before opening anything.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptoms
You describe what changed. No cold air, a breaker that keeps tripping, water near the air handler, a smell, a noise. That gives us a head start on parts before we ever leave the shop.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behavior and the outdoor unit. We look at the whole system, because a frozen coil usually points somewhere else.
- Step 3
You decide the repair
We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the rest of the system is likely to hold up. You pick the repair. We do not start work you did not approve.

Why homeowners call us
- Rural routes are normal for usWe drive long stretches between calls and we plan for it. Trucks carry the common heat pump and air conditioner repair parts so a diagnosis does not turn into a second trip on a hot afternoon.
- Heat pumps and sandy soilMost homes we visit run a heat pump, and sand, lawn clippings and pollen pack the outdoor coil fast. We clear it, check the defrost side in winter, and show you what we found before we close it up.
- Well water housesHomes on well water bring their own quirks, from pump-driven electrical noise to hard water on drain lines and condensate pans. We know where those systems clog and where the slow leaks hide.
- Heating repair tooCold snaps in this region are short and hard. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnaces, so one crew handles your system in July and again in January.
- All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
