What a ductless mini-split repair involves
A mini-split is two halves talking to each other, so the repair starts with figuring out which half is at fault. We run the system, watch how the indoor head responds, read any error code it throws, and check what the outdoor unit is doing while it runs. From there it is usually a control board, a fan motor, a clogged condensate line, a failing sensor, or a refrigerant circuit problem. We tell you which one it is and what the fix takes before we start.
What we check on the call
We pull the cover on the indoor head and look at the blower wheel and coil, because a mini-split in a sandy yard on a well pump line collects dust and biofilm faster than people expect. We check the drain pan and condensate line, the filters, the line set connections, the disconnect and wiring at the outdoor unit, the contactor, the capacitor, and the reversing valve if the system is a heat pump and struggling in heating mode.
How we decide repair is the right call
Age, the part that failed, and how the rest of the system looks. A bad capacitor or a plugged drain on a mini-split with years left is an easy repair. A failed compressor on an older unit, or a system that has lost refrigerant twice through the same line set, is a different conversation. We also look at how many heads are on the outdoor unit, since one failing zone does not always mean the whole system is done. You get the honest version either way.

Why is my mini-split head dripping water down the wall?
Almost always a blocked condensate drain. The line runs by gravity, so algae, dust or a sagging section backs water into the pan until it spills. We clear the line and check the slope so it drains properly again.
One head works and the others do not. Is that one repair or several?
Usually one. Multiple heads share an outdoor unit, so a failing zone valve, a control board fault, or a refrigerant issue in one branch can knock out some heads while others keep running. We test each zone.
What does the blinking light on my indoor unit mean?
It is an error code, and the pattern tells us which sensor or component reported the fault. Note how many blinks and how often before you call, since it helps us bring the right part on a long drive.
