Homeowners' pick for heating and cooling across north Florida and the Suwannee Valley

Duct Replacement

We replace failed duct systems in homes across Florida, Georgia and South Carolina, pulling out crushed, torn or mold-stained ducts and installing new insulated runs sized for your heat pump or furnace. Homeowners usually need this when rooms never reach the thermostat setting, the air handler runs constantly, or the ducts in the crawlspace have sagged and split open. If your cooling bills climbed with no change in habits, call us and we will crawl the system and tell you what we find.

What a duct replacement job involves

We start under the house or in the attic with a light and a camera, tracing every run from the air handler to the last register. Old flex duct comes out along with rusted straps and collapsed boots. New insulated duct goes in with proper support so it never sags into standing water or sand. Joints get mastic and mechanical fastening, not tape alone. We reseal the plenum connections, reset registers, then run the system and check airflow at each room before we pack up.

What we check and install

Before anything gets ordered, we measure. Room sizes, register locations, return capacity and the BTU output of your existing equipment all feed into duct sizing, because an undersized return will choke a good system no matter how new the supply runs are. We look at insulation value for hot attics, boot sealing at the floor, and whether the return path from bedrooms is blocked by closed doors. Then we install duct rated for the space it lives in, with hangers spaced so it holds its shape for years.

How we decide replacement is the right call

Repair comes first when it makes sense. A single torn run or a loose boot is a patch, and we will say so. Replacement enters the conversation when the flex is brittle and crumbling, when rodents have opened multiple runs, when insulation is soaked and staying wet, or when the original layout starves half the house. We show you photos of what we found under the floor so the decision is yours and based on the actual condition, not a guess.

Duct Replacement — quick answers

How long does duct replacement take?

Most single-family homes take one to two working days, depending on crawlspace access and how many runs there are. We keep the system usable overnight when a job runs long, and we tell you upfront if that is not possible.

Do I need new equipment too?

Not usually. Plenty of homes have sound heat pumps or furnaces feeding ruined ducts. We assess the equipment separately and tell you if it is near the end of its life so you can plan, rather than bundling it in.

Will new ducts fix hot and cold rooms?

Often yes, if the cause is leakage, undersized runs or a weak return. We measure airflow room by room before and after. If the problem is insulation or window heat gain instead, we will tell you that.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Tell us the symptoms

You describe what changed. No cold air, a breaker that keeps tripping, water near the air handler, a smell, a noise. That gives us a head start on parts before we ever leave the shop.

  2. Step 2

    We diagnose on site

A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behavior and the outdoor unit. We look at the whole system, because a frozen coil usually points somewhere else.

  3. Step 3

    You decide the repair

We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the rest of the system is likely to hold up. You pick the repair. We do not start work you did not approve.

Why homeowners call us

  • Rural routes are normal for usWe drive long stretches between calls and we plan for it. Trucks carry the common heat pump and air conditioner repair parts so a diagnosis does not turn into a second trip on a hot afternoon.
  • Heat pumps and sandy soilMost homes we visit run a heat pump, and sand, lawn clippings and pollen pack the outdoor coil fast. We clear it, check the defrost side in winter, and show you what we found before we close it up.
  • Well water housesHomes on well water bring their own quirks, from pump-driven electrical noise to hard water on drain lines and condensate pans. We know where those systems clog and where the slow leaks hide.
  • Heating repair tooCold snaps in this region are short and hard. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnaces, so one crew handles your system in July and again in January.
  • All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
  • Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
