What the job involves
We start by measuring what your house actually needs rather than matching whatever nameplate is on the old unit. Then we disconnect and remove the existing furnace, adapt the plenum and duct connections, set the new equipment, and run the flue, condensate and electrical to it properly. Thermostat wiring gets checked and often replaced. Before we leave we bring the system up, verify airflow and temperature rise, and walk you through filter size and how the controls work.
What we check and install
Replacement is a good time to catch the things that shortened the last furnace's life. We look at return air sizing, duct leaks in the crawlspace or attic, blocked or closed vents, and whether the filter slot is doing its job. On heat pump homes in sandy soil we also check the outdoor unit and the way the two stages hand off. The new furnace, the coil connection, the flue, the drain and the thermostat all get installed and tested together.
How we decide it is the right call
We would rather do heating repair if repair makes sense, so we tell you what is actually wrong first. Replacement usually wins when the heat exchanger is compromised, when the unit is old enough that parts arrive slowly or not at all, or when repair costs stack up on a system that was undersized from the start. If you smell gas or a carbon monoxide alarm sounds, leave the building, call 911 or your gas utility, then call us.

How long does a furnace replacement take?
Most single furnace changeouts are a one day job. If the ductwork, flue or electrical needs rework, or if we are waiting on a specific size of equipment, it can run into a second day.
Can I keep my existing ductwork?
Often yes. We inspect it for leaks, crushed sections and undersized returns first. Sealing or resizing part of the duct system is common, and full replacement is only needed when the existing runs are badly deteriorated.
Should I replace the outdoor unit at the same time?
If you have a heat pump or an AC coil sharing the cabinet, matching both sides usually gives better performance and simpler service later. We will tell you plainly whether yours needs it or can wait.
How it works
- Step 1
Tell us the symptoms
You describe what changed. No cold air, a breaker that keeps tripping, water near the air handler, a smell, a noise. That gives us a head start on parts before we ever leave the shop.
- Step 2
We diagnose on site
A technician checks the thermostat, the electrical side, airflow through the filter and coil, refrigerant behavior and the outdoor unit. We look at the whole system, because a frozen coil usually points somewhere else.
- Step 3
You decide the repair
We explain what failed, what it takes to fix it, and how long the rest of the system is likely to hold up. You pick the repair. We do not start work you did not approve.

Why homeowners call us
- Rural routes are normal for usWe drive long stretches between calls and we plan for it. Trucks carry the common heat pump and air conditioner repair parts so a diagnosis does not turn into a second trip on a hot afternoon.
- Heat pumps and sandy soilMost homes we visit run a heat pump, and sand, lawn clippings and pollen pack the outdoor coil fast. We clear it, check the defrost side in winter, and show you what we found before we close it up.
- Well water housesHomes on well water bring their own quirks, from pump-driven electrical noise to hard water on drain lines and condensate pans. We know where those systems clog and where the slow leaks hide.
- Heating repair tooCold snaps in this region are short and hard. We do heating repair and heater repair on heat pumps, strip heat and furnaces, so one crew handles your system in July and again in January.
- All major brands, gas & electricOne independent crew for Carrier, Trane, Lennox, Goodman, Rheem and more.
- Straight answersIf a system is not worth repairing, we say so, often right on the phone.
